About Us

Mission and Values

The Richard K. and Shirley S. Hemingway Foundation was founded in 1987 by Richard Keith and Shirley Stranquist Hemingway to fund charitable projects in their areas of interest in Utah and Idaho.  During Richard and Shirley’s lives, their major interests were the arts, education, cultural activities and the betterment of our communities.

These interests are reflected in the mission and criteria used by the Foundation when awarding grants.

Mission Statement

The Richard K. and Shirley S. Hemingway Foundation provides resources to charitable organizations and programs that serve the communities in Utah and Idaho in the following areas:  Arts and Culture, Environmental Stewardship and Self-Sufficiency.
